Melt Flow Index of Polymers is a unique attribute of plastic materials which helps to calculate the chemical and rheological properties of the materials. It is a highly accurate and precise testing machine that accurately calculates the MFI of plastic resins. The MFI of plastic resin is considered as the weight of the resins which flows out from the capillary tube in a period of ten minutes when provided by shear stress and a definite amount of load. The testing process passes the molten plastic granules from a capillary tube of specific dimensions. The exact amount of load is applied to the granules during the test using the piston. Presto Stantest designs two types of MFI tester i.e. Deluxe Model and NXG Model.
Presto's Melt Flow Index of polymers is used to measure the MFR of the plastics granules and resins. It is widely used in polymer industries and plastic products manufacturing units. The testing instrument is designed according to the standards that are provided by ASTM and ISO standards. The test focus on meeting the principle conditions those are necessary to perform the test. The testing instrument has a PID temperature controller, and the working of the device is based on the microprocessor. The temperature range can be set between ambient to 400oC. The maximum resolution offers by the instrument is 0.1oC with the accuracy of ±0.1oC. The device is provided with various standard accessories that make the working of the device simpler. The machine is designed on the heavy metallic base plate that ensures the stable and safe operations. The testing machine is designed in compliance with the various standard test methods.
