Presto's Cobb Sizing Tester for Paper is designed and manufactured for a clear assessment of the water absorbent strength of a paper or cardboard in a specific period of time. The Cobb value of a substance means the quantity of water which a specimen can absorb over a period of time by a specimen of 1 square meter under different working conditions and wet working conditions. The testing instrument provides measurable and accurate test results. The device is designed with high-quality of material, keeping in mind the standard test methods that are provided by various standardization authorities
The Cobb sizing tester for Paper is done to measure the adequacy level of water that a paperboard can absorb to its maximum. To perform the test accurately, first take the weight of the sample and then place the sample in the cylindrical ring. Now fill the cylindrical container with sufficient quantity of water, exposing the upper side of the sample to the water. After a given period of time, drain out the water by pressing the sample with the help of roller by moving the roller two times forward and two times backward direction. Now again take the weight of the sample. The weight gained by the specimen will be considered as its water absorbency.
